You said we heard... Appointment system
Posted on 24 Feb 2020
Here at Clarendon we welcome constructive patient feedback and over time we know that one of the biggest challenges has been availability of clinicians on the day that you are unwell.
With this in mind we have reviewed our appointment system and how we get the right patients in contact with the right clinician.
From early January 2020 we will launch a new approach to our appointment system, increasing the capacity for patients to speak to a Clinician on the same day of contact.
When a patient calls the reception staff will arrange for a Clinician (Doctor or our Advanced Nurse Practitioner) to call you back and start your consultation on the telephone. If they can resolve your consultation on the phone they will, however, if they assess that they need to see you they will arrange with you to see you at the practice on the same day.
This does mean that the reception team will need to ask you for a brief outline of what you require to ensure that you are contacted in a timely manner or may even be able to direct you to a more appropriate service such as the minor ailment or minor eye schemes. They will also ask you for up to date contact details to avoid missed calls.
as this is a new system we ask for your co-operation and for you to work with the team to allow the system time to work.
Constructive feedback and suggestion is always welcome but shouting at the reception team will not help and will not be tolerated, remember they are trying their best to ensure that patients get what they need.
